It is the most prevalent tick-borne disease in the United States, with a higher incidence than AIDS, West Nile Virus, and Avian Flu combined. Annual new infection rates have just been upwardly revised to over 300,000 cases. Caused by B. Burgdorferi, a bacterium of the spirochete class, Lyme disease is a zoonotic, vector-borne disease transmitted by theIxodes scapularis, also known as the black-legged deer tick.

In this webinar, Dr. Berndtson will review Lyme disease epidemiology, prevention, early detection, and clinical diagnosis.
